What is PYRN?

PYRN is a youth-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming how young people access resources, build skills, and shape their futures across the Virginia Peninsula and Tidewater areas. We connect youth with support systems, employment readiness programs, and life tools that help them thrive.

Who does PYRN serve?

We support youth ages 17–24, especially those navigating key transitions like finishing high school, entering the workforce, or stepping into independent adulthood. Our programs are designed to be inclusive, empowering, and responsive to diverse backgrounds and needs.

What kind of programs does PYRN offer?

How can I get involved as a youth participant?

You can join PYRN by filling out our digital intake form, attending a local workshop, or connecting with us through school or community partners. We welcome youth voices in shaping programs and policies.

Can adults or professionals get involved?

Absolutely. We’re building a network of mentors, educators, employers, and service providers who want to support youth development. You can partner with us, volunteer, or join our strategic advisory team.

Is PYRN a government agency?

No, PYRN is an independent nonprofit organization. We collaborate with schools, local agencies, and other nonprofits to build a unified support system but we are youth-led and community-driven.

How is PYRN different from other youth programs?

We focus on collaboration, systems thinking, and youth empowerment. PYRN doesn’t just offer services we build bridges between disconnected resources, track outcomes, and center youth voices in every decision.

Where is PYRN located?

Our outreach and resource mapping currently focus on the Virginia Peninsula and Tidewater VA areas. We also offer virtual tools and support for youth and partners beyond this region.
